Eiffel Tower

A true symbol of Paris and perhaps (as they claim) "the world's most recognizable structure," the Eiffel Tower was originally intended to be a temporary exhibit for the 1889 Universal Exhibition. It's dual purpose as an ideal radio antenna spared its demolition.
