For those who don’t know, I’ll be finally coming home this weekend! I won’t publish specifics on the website but I’ll be sure to let everyone know once I make it!

Toby,
If you recall we exchanged emails a few months back. Glad to hear you are making it out!!! My team got on the ground here at Tallil AB last Saturday. There seems to be all kinds of work for us civil engineering types!!! Luckily we are on the Air Force side and things are pretty good…we have running water and flush toilets. I cannot say the same for our Army Brethern…they are still using port-o-poties and such. At least they are not having to burn their crap anymore!!! Although we are Air Force, we have been deployed here to support the Army, so hopefully we will be able to bring up the standards of living for those folks. My first project is to build a new Chapel. I guess they figure we all can use all the help we can get.
They tell us we will be here a minimum of six months, but possibly up to two years. I told my wife about the six months part…don’t have the heart to tell her it might be 24!!!
Enjoy your return home. Job well done!!!
Best Regards,
Major AL
