StrictMy brother Peter sent me a link today to a CNN article about a failed al-Samoud missile attack on Camp Doha on March 27. This is the day that my company left for Iraq.
After he sent that article, I thought back to the alarm we had that morning. I remembered it distinctly, because we heard two Patriot missiles launch, followed very quickly by an explosion. I remember thinking at the time, “man, that couldn’t have been more than a few hundred meters away!” The building we were staying in was very close to their supposed target, so I’m really glad they got that one!
